Forgiving and forgetting can be difficult and isn’t always easy...

I recently came across this quote: “Men forget but never forgive. Women forgive but never forget.” Honestly, all those forgives and forgets in one sentence just confused me. Whichever way it may be, in every relationship we’re involved in, there’s bound to be the inevitable part of getting upset or angry with each other. But hey, even from a guy’s POV, I think sometimes we must get hurt in order to grow, we must fall in order to know.

Many relationships these days end with hate and revenge simply because one or the other couldn’t forgive and forget. But did you ever realize that in the olden days (yes, I am referring to our grandparents era!), no matter what happened, they forgave and forgot. Sure, it wasn’t easy, but they swallowed the truth and lived with it. Simply put, they played pretend and that—was how they managed to stay together “till death do us part”.

It’s equally difficult for both sexes to forgive and forget. The only difference is that some can keep it ALL inside and would probably never mention the past ever again. Others on the other hand, tend to explode with emotions and bring up the same issue over and over (probably until they part ways!). But really, for a relationship to work, we should learn from our past mistakes...just breathe and let it all go. Why not be the bigger person and learn how to forgive and forget?
